Invisalign are a discreet and alternative to braces.

Invisalign® Invisible Braces

So, what’s all the fuss about Invisalign? Well, read on and you’ll soon understand why it’s become the most popular option for adults who are looking to straighten their teeth with invisible braces.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign are clear, removable retainers that are custom-made to quickly but gently move teeth into their ideal position without interfering in your everyday life. Once placed in the mouth, Invisalign are almost invisible, with no metal wires or brackets on show so no-one is even likely to notice you’re wearing them.

Invisalign also allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before treatment even begins, so you can see exactly how your teeth are expected to look when treatment is complete.

Who is it for?

Ideal for adults who may be self-conscious about undergoing orthodontic treatment, Invisalign are discreet and convenient, as you can remove them for special occasions. They are also a very hygienic treatment option, because the aligners can be removed when eating, brushing and flossing, making it much easier to maintain good overall oral health.

Invisalign is designed to help straighten only fully grown adult teeth, so it is not a suitable treatment for children or for more complex orthodontic problems. However, your dentist will quickly be able to recommend if Invisalign is the right solution for you.

Invisalign FAQs

Are Invisalign aligners visible?

Not really. They are made of thin, clear plastic, so someone would have to be very close indeed to notice them!

Can I take them out?

Yes. The aligners are removable, which is great for maintaining oral hygiene and also for the occasional special social or professional occasion.

Can I eat and drink with them in?

We recommend you only drink cold water with the aligners in place and remove them for eating or drinking anything else.

Will the aligners affect my speech?

You may notice a slight lisp when you first wear them, but this should disappear once you’ve adapted to having the plastic in your mouth.

How do I clean the aligners?

Simple - just remove them from your mouth and gently brush with water.

How long will the treatment take?

It very much depends on your individual case, but treatment can usually be completed within a year.
